How the pandemic has affected book sales

On Write About Now podcast with Jonathan Small
It’s always kind of dicey, the self-promotion that accompanies the publication of a new book, but you gotta do it.
Here’s my first interview with podcast host Jonathan Small on Write About Now. We talk about Palm Springs Noir, but mostly we talk about writing. Check out his other episodes, too. He’s a great interviewer and great person.
The fun begins.
Palm Springs Noir received a great pre-pub review from Kirkus. Check it out!
Writing in Place: Stories from the Pandemic–just published!
I’m happy to announce the publication of the first anthology released by Mars Street Press. It’s a literary journal with stories and essays by my private workshop students and me. Everyone worked so hard to make this book happen. It’s dedicated to my father-in-law, Richard Dale Barrett, who died from COVID-19 in July. My son Travis created the fantastic cover and did the layout. My student, Amelia Dellos, titled it (and took the photo below right).
